Running For The Bulls

Bring out your four legged friend as this race truly is "for the dogs". This year's event will feature 10K, 5K and 1.7 Mile distances and will take place at Rio Vista Park to benefit AZK9 Rescue.

This event is completely dog friendly, complete with doggy pools at each aid station!


The Running For the Bulls event serves as a fundraiser for AZK9.  AZK9 was founded by a group of people who wanted to make a difference in the lives of companion animals in Maricopa County. The members of AZK9 give their time, passion, and knowledge to offer proactive solutions to address the pet overpopulation. AZK9 focuses in three main areas; sterilization, education, and rescue of companion animals in need. To support their amazing work please considering giving at their donation page here!

Race Day Information

  • Race Day Check In and Registration will be available beginning at 6:00am at Rio Vista Park.

    • We accept cash, check, and credit card on race day.  Race day prices are $50 for the 10K, $40 for the 5K, and $30 for the 1.7 Mile Run/Walk.

    • All shirts sizes may not be available on race day (please register online before race day to guarantee your shirt size choice).

  • Wheelchair, stroller, and leashed pet friendly event.  

  • The course will take you through dedicated running trails (all asphalt or concrete) of the New River Trail System.  Please note - this is an open trail system and does not close for our event.  There will be bicycles, othere runners, and possibly event horses along the course.  Please be good stewards of the course and share!!

  • Sept. 30th 2:00PM -   Packet Pick-Up at OHSO Brewery - Paradise Valley from 2:00 - 5:00pm

  • October 1st 6:00AM - Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup Opens at Rio Vista Park

  • October 1st 7:00AM - 10K Begins

  • October 1st 7:10AM - 5K Begins

  • October 1st 7:20AM - 1.7 Mile Fun Walk/Run Begins

  • October 1st 8:10AM - Awards Ceremony Begins (approx)
